I have kept my ride events plans for 2020 more realistic and have been a bit more selective rather than enter anything and everything I can think of. Each of the events I have entered for has a different twist.
Essex Spring Lambs
A sportive I have thought about entering over the years but had yet to do so. Being early in the season I have opted for the 67-mile course. I am hoping all of the Zwift training I have been doing will pay off! Read the Cycling Weekly review.
ECCA 100k
I have not done an audax before and I really looking forward to riding my first one.

Nightrider
This is really something different and a ride I have done twice before. Basically, it’s riding in circles around London overnight. I have done the event twice before and last year covered 64 miles between 11 pm and 5:30 in the morning!

London to Southend
The London to Southend ride was the first ride that I did after getting back into cycling in 2007. I have done it every year since and this year will be no different.

Velo Essex
This is the first time this event has taken place and the first time I will have ridden on closed roads. A great season ender!

The Way of the Roses Coast to Coast
And this will be this year’s big adventure. Having ridden the traditional Coast to Coast route last year, I am going to ride this variation in 2020.
